Weekly Blog Special Update: June 1st

Hello Internet!

Well I can’t believe it’s already June 1st! It seems like May 1st was just yesterday and to me, the whole month of May really flew by compared to other months. We’re entering the halfway point of 2017 and the fourth full month of this website being a thing! We’ve seen a steady grow of views, likes, and followers in May and I hope that the trend continues far into June and the rest of the year. It honestly makes me so happy and excited when I see the views going up or when WordPress notifies me I have a new like. I’ve also expanded my horizons on WordPress a little and checked out websites that others have made. So if you like, follow, or share something I write, I definitely see that and then I return the favor by checking out your stuff. I don’t believe in buying views or shares or anything like that, so word of mouth and your support on the website is the only way this website grows a fan base and a community. I want to let you know that if you’re reading this, you are important to me and the website, and you cause so much joy in my life by just checking out my stuff. It’s a pretty simple thing and brings me so much joy, so you might as well do it!

Now let’s move on to the main attraction. The reason why you are here. My Resolutions and an update on my life. Of course I should mention that this is a series of updates based off of my January 8th post about the Resolutions I set for myself to accomplish during 2017 which can be found here. There are also updates for each month including my February 1st update, March 1st update, April 1st update, and my May 1st update. Feel free to check out one, some, or all of those updates if you are curious on how this journey is going. If not, don’t worry because I’ll break down each of my four resolutions and update you about my progress between May 1st and June 1st.

Ok, so as you might know (or should know if you’ve read any of the other updates), my first resolution is to write more. This resolution was definitely the biggest and it was all about taking my ideas and put it to paper, er more accurately put it on the screen. This resolution is the whole reason that I started this website and started to regularly update it. I’m continued to put up more pieces and blog posts and May was another month full of pieces. Including this piece, I have uploaded 82 pieces to the website and I’m predicting that I should reach piece number 100 around late June or Early July so be prepared for that! I’ve been brainstorming some ideas to make it awesome, and if I have the time, I want to write some really awesome stuff leading up to piece 100. I don’t want to say too much because nothing is written (typed?) in stone, yet, but I’ll let you know what awesome stuff will be uploaded as time gets closer. This month has been another eventful month with an uptick in views, followers, and likes. We’re really starting to create a community here and I get regular views from all over the world. That just amazes me and I’m so thankful for every view no matter if its from my friends and family or from people in China, Australia, or Brazil. Again, I want to thank everybody who reads this because every view fills me with joy and I really get a sense of accomplishment from people viewing my pieces and spending time on the website.

My second resolution for 2017 is that I wanted to be more positive in my life as well as being a positive force for the people around me. Obviously it is important to know that you can’t be happy all the time. There will be bad times and good times, but I try to focus on the good and the silver lining among the bad times. I still feel all human emotions including sadness, sorrow, nervousness, loneliness, anger, disappointment, etc. but I’m actively trying to put out positive emotions instead of putting out the bad ones. There are some people out there who only put out negative emotions and like to ruin people’s lives or put them down. These people get pleasure out of other people’s misery and I just don’t understand it. I’m trying to counteract all that negativity that is present in people’s lives and on the internet. I feel like I’m dong a pretty good job at being positive and putting out those positive thoughts, but a group of recent disappointments have brought me down. This month has been a roller coaster of emotions for me, but I’ve tried to focus on the positive day after day. Hopefully if you’ve read my stuff, you got something positive out of it and maybe a positive impact on your life even if its just a brief moment of positivity.

My third resolution was to be more adventurous. This resolution has two basic parts. Part A was that I wanted to go on more adventures and spend more time outside doing things and enjoying the outside world. Part B is to be more adventurous and open minded when it comes to important life events. When it comes to Part A, I can’t say I have been on too many adventures. A lot of my time is soaked up by work and writing for the website. I also spend a lot of time watching YouTube and Netflix, so I don’t get out a ton. I know I sound like a puppy who is stuck inside all day, but it is kind of true. I have spent some more time outside because of the warmer weather and summer being right around the corner. Part B has been less than eventful. All of those really awesome opportunities I talked about in last month’s update didn’t really pan out. I had a few different job interviews last month but none of them resulted in a new job. So I still have my old job and I’m still living at home with my parents, so that kind of bums me out. This lack of change in my life has led to my declining attitude towards the whole thing and my adventurous mindset has been dulled. I really hope things turn around, but if you’ve even been on the job hunt, you know how frustrating it can become when you go to several interviews, but don’t actually get the job. That’s what I’ve been dealing with over the past couple of weeks.

My fourth and final resolution for 2017 is that I wanted to be healthier. My main focus was on diet and exercise. As I have mentioned in many, previous posts, it has been over two years since I’ve had pop (or soda) and I have kept that streak alive. I have cut out a lot of sugary drinks that are not carbonated and when I’m at work, I only drink water. I drink a lot of water, but also drink Gatorade, Lemonade, or juice from time to time. I’ve also been eating a lot more salads for lunch when I’m at work. I’m not really big on salads or leafy greens, but I’ve been trying to eat more of it because its good for you and saves me some money on employee meals. I feel like I’ve cut down on desserts a little bit but not in any significant way. I still haven’t gotten around to buying a gym membership and putting money behind the need of exercise. In my defense, I have explained that I don’t have a lot of time. Most of my time is consumed by work, writing, and sleeping. So yeah I haven’t spent a lot of time exercising, but I’m hoping that the warm weather opens up more opportunities for me to go outside and exercise that way. Maybe take some walks around the block or get a bicycle and go on a biking trip. We’ll see how well that goes, but I hope to have a little better update for all of you when it comes to July 1st’s special update.

So yeah. That’s all four of my New Year’s Resolutions I’m working on for 2017. Altogether I’m doing a pretty good job on my resolutions, but some are definitely harder than others. Compared to April, I feel like I’ve been on par with last month. Maybe a little better or better a little less. I’m not a really good judge since I’m too close to realistically judge how well I’m doing. I’m kind of feeling down on myself because of the circumstance surrounding resolution three and the lack of change in my life, but who knows. Maybe I’ll have a better update about that in a month. I hope you enjoy these updates each month and I hope that your resolutions are going just as well or better than mine. I know a lot of people might think it’s too late to start improving their lives, but that’s not true! Start today and don’t wait for some arbitrary time like January 1st. All you need is some effort and some motivation and you can do great things and make some fantastic changes to your life. Also remember to set realistic goals for yourself and little mini goals that add up to the big goal. You can’t go from 0 to 100 immediately and expect to keep up your energy. You’ll burn out and become frustrated that nothing changed. Start with crawling, then walking, and then running. So keep your goals realistic and give it some time, and you’ll be fine. I believe in you and if you need someone to talk to about your resolutions, feel free to contact me either though the website, email, the Facebook Page, or the Twitter Page (Please check out the social media websites and like/follow us if you don’t already).

Again, thank you for checking out this piece and I really hope you enjoyed it. Please give me some feedback if you feel like it and go ahead and check out the other pieces on my website. I really appreciate your views, likes, shares, and comments! Thank you for all your support and I hope you have a wonderful week!
