Weekly Blog March 10th, 2019: A Weekly Blog, I Guess?

Hello Internet!

I hope all of you had a wonderful week! My week was pretty good, but pretty uneventful. The good news is that I finally got around to finishing Netflix’s The Punisher Season 2 and The Dragon Prince Season 2. Both of which were great shows and I highly recommend them. It really saddens me that we are not going to get a Season 3 to The Punisher or another season for any of the Netflix/Marvel shows. In my mind Jon Bernthal is Frank Castle/Punisher, Charlie Cox is Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio is Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, and Krysten Ritter is Jessica Jones. The casting for those shows are so good and I hope that Disney and Marvel will do something whether or that be some kind of incorporation of The Defenders into the MCU or the shows get transferred over to the Disney+ Streaming Service. I know there’s some legal stuff going on with Netflix’s contract where Disney can’t make shows or whatever with those characters for some time, but those actors deserve to reprise their roles! It just sucks that Netflix is cancelling all those shows. Anyway, Dragon Prince is also very good! If you liked Avatar: The Last Air Bender like I did or you just love magic, politics, and dragons, you’ll like the show. Trust me. It’s very good.

Other than watching stuff on Netflix, I also wrote a ton of stuff that got published on the website. I better talk about those now. Last Sunday, I published a Weekly Blog where I begged people to Stop The Hate! I talked about Trolling and bullying online and how most of the time, hate is misplaced and unnecessary. The internet and social media are powerful tools that can be used to spread positivity or negativity, and I encourage everyone to use them for good. Be a positive force on the internet and make it better for everyone! On Wednesday, I published a Poem titled “Late Night Anxiety.” I had actually planned for another Poem to be published this week, which will probably come out this upcoming Wednesday, but then this Poem kind of bubbled up from inside me in the middle of the night and I wrote it down. It kind of just spilled out of me and onto the website. I feel like poems like that hold a little bit more weight to them and are often a lot more personal. So if that sounds like something you’d be interested in, give it a read. On Friday, I published a Writing Prompt piece titled “My Name is Clarissa” This Writing Prompt piece is based off of a Writing Prompt that comes from Piccadilly’s Writing Prompt Book: Complete The Story. As you probably know or can figure out, I get most of my Writing Prompts from r/WritingPrompts which is Reddit’s subreddit for Writing Prompts, but since I got this other book for Christmas, I’m trying to incorporate those Writing Prompts as well. There are probably 50 or 60 Writing Prompts from the book that I want to use which will probably last me years. Anyway, this Writing Prompt piece is about a girl standing up for herself and becoming a more confident person which I thought was a perfect match for International Women’s Day. Finally, on Saturday, I published the twenty-fifth chapter to my Pokémon Heart Gold/Soul Silver Fanfiction titled Pokémon HGSS#25: Enter The Dragon’s Den. Even though Jonathan defeated Clair and her Dragon-Type Pokémon, she refuses to give Jonathan the Gym Badge. He must complete one more task before she will hand it over. Jonathan must enter The Dragon’s Den and complete this final task.

So now that I got that out of the way, you may be wondering what I’m going to talk about next. I mean with a title like “A Weekly Blog, I Guess?” it leaves it open for interruption. Well today I write this Weekly Blog to admit one thing….I don’t know what to write about. I know! I know! You’d think that after all this time, I would have this boiled down to a science. I mean week after week I come up with interesting topics, or stories, or subjects to talk about all while giving you, the reader, a little insight into my soul. But this week, I was unable to come up with anything. I’ve run through all of my ideas. I have no more. No more stories. No more interesting subjects. Nothing. “But Allen,” I hear you say. “What about the things you talked about earlier. Marvel shows on Netflix. The Dragon Prince. Couldn’t those be subjects for a Weekly Blog?” Yes, yes they could. But they won’t. At least not today. Usually when I review movies or television shows, it turns into me talking about how much I love stuff. That’s not really bad, per se, but I’m just not really the movie/television critic type. “What about Daylight Savings? That just happened. You could write a Weekly Blog about that.” You’re right I could, but I didn’t really feel like doing another historic based Weekly Blog. That leaves me with talking about my week. Well…. I know that Bloggers and Vloggers always come up with extravagant stories week after week or day after day, but my life isn’t that eventful. Not every week can be exciting and full of wonder. Some weeks I’m sick and laying in bed and other weeks I’m just not that exciting.

Of course I didn’t want to miss out on a Weekly Blog just because I didn’t come up with a subject matter, so here I am, rambling on about stuff trying to fill a page and make it up to all of the readers out there that hold me to such a high standard. I didn’t want to let anyone down, but as I write this, I realize that my ramblings barely makes up for the fact that I didn’t have a subject for this Week’s Weekly Blog! I mean this Blog isn’t going to win any awards or bring any new readers, but I do believe this shows you another side of me. This is the “waiting to the last minute and having no idea what I’m doing and I need a subject for a Weekly Blog but I don’t know what I’m going to do” side of me. It’s a very specific side. Also I hope it never comes around again. I mean I write 50 of these a year, so one has to be a dud and that one is this one. If this is your first time reading my stuff, I’m really sorry. I promise that the next one will be better. It will have an actual subject matter and structure. It will be a regular Weekly Blog that everyone can enjoy. I’m just sorry you had to struggle through this one. Give me one more chance! Please I beg of you! I can do better!! Or not. Maybe this will become the most popular Weekly Blog I’ve ever written and will cause my views to skyrocket. I’ll gain a million followers overnight as this Weekly Blog blows up and then I’ll spend the rest of my writing career chasing this lightning in a bottle and it will drive me insane. So really it’s a win-win. I’m just going to cut this here and hope I can salvage my writing career.

If you read this far, I want to thank you and apologize for all that nonsense. If you liked this Weekly Blog, I am grateful but also confused. Maybe you are just too kind to me. You can also give me a pity “Like” if you’d like. That would be cool. All of my readers are too good to me and help make each month better than the last, so I suspect this will be no different. I highly recommend checking out all the other pieces I’ve written. It will make me feel better if you read the other stuff because it’s actually good and is worth the read. Or at least it’s better than this. I’d recommend any of the pieces I mentioned up above or you can just spend a moment checking out the website and search for yourself. You can also Follow me here on WordPress if you are so inclined. That would be really cool. Anyway, thank you for reading this mess of a Weekly Blog. I really appreciate all of the love and support.

I hope you all have a fantastic week!

P.S. I don’t know if I have to say this or not but this Weekly Blog was full of self-deprecating humor. All of it is a joke and supposed to be funny. I’m not a comedy writer, so I’m not sure how well all of this sarcasm will play off. Just know it was supposed to be a joke. Anyway, I will see you all next week with a more proper Weekly Blog!
