Winter Wind

Wind whipping past the window quickly.
It shakes the window and rattles the glass.
Winter cold slipping through the cracks.
Snowflakes stuck to the glass, looking in.

The wind howls louder and louder.
The snow whips up into a crystal spiral.
Temperatures plunge freezing the mist in the air.
Hanging icicles shiver in the cold.

The inside is warm but the cold presses up against the glass.
The snow is beautiful, but the cold is deceptive.
It begs to be let in.
Instead you wrap up in a warm blanket and drink a hot beverage.

It’s a good day to stay inside.
