Fading

Grab your attention. Grab your hand. Pay attention. Keep your eyes on me. Don't let out of your sight. I'm afraid I'll be nothing but a fleeting memory. I'm fading away. Unseen. If my presence doesn’t stick with you. Then I’ll vanish entirely. Header Photo Credit to Pexelshttps://www.pexels.com/photo/double-exposure-polaroid-photo-of-a-man-and-field-13752539/

Inheritance

What will we leave behind for our children? What do we demand from our sons and daughters? What deep scars are we making now? That cannot be reversed? Is this the better life we worked for? Is this the inheritance we wanted to pass on? Or are we just leaving behind war, strife, and division?... Continue Reading →

The Pumpkin King

An empty husk walking amongst the living. Followed by curious spirits and mischievous ghouls. Dark omens stay hidden in shadow. For the Pumpkin King has made their presence known. Large back birds gather on rooftops. Watching the makeshift parade of misfits and tricksters. They knock on doors, demanding sweet treats. Anyone who turns them away... Continue Reading →

Witch’s Brew

Eye of newt, seed of yellow. Make this position to heal a fellow. Or if you are trying to leave your mark. Try the tongue of dog, it has no bark. The wool of bat and blood red berries. Makes an elixir that can be quite scary. The adder’s tongue and blind-worm too. That is... Continue Reading →

Hollow Victory

You stand upon the mountain top. Foes vanquished. A bloody sword in your hand. A trail of bodies behind you. The destruction you have left behind is vast. But you are a conqueror. You won. You made it. But the angels do not sing your praises. The devils around your feet do not cheer. The... Continue Reading →

Autumn’s Siren Song

Autumn calls to me. Its siren song sounds like crunching leaves. It promises relief from the summer heat. Replaced with chilly mornings and oversized sweaters. The air is sweetened by pumpkin spice and apple cider. Falling leaves of yellows, oranges, reds, and browns. Distracts from the gentle layer of frost on the ground. Soon those... Continue Reading →

Tell Your Story

Your voice. Your story. No one is telling it. They couldn’t if they tried. Your perspective. Unique. Don’t just fade into the crowd. Speak up. Be loud. Draw attention to yourself. Storm the stage. Use your platform. Speak your story into the world. Your art. Your writing. Your music. Expressions of your life that cannot... Continue Reading →

Brisk Stop

Brisk Stop. Listening to that bubble pop. Pop. Lights hanging from the rafters. We're just dancing non stop. Flash of brilliance. Flash of light. The noise cuts out completely. Then the beat drops. The wails come from the living. The laughter from the dead. Losing focus. Gaining verve. The madness of the crowd sends us over... Continue Reading →

Summer Everlasting

Laying on a piece of outstretched comfort. Snuggled together under the cloudless, summer sky. Feeling your chest rise and fall with every breath. My ear pressed against you so I can hear your thumping heart.  The sight of dancing stars fluttering between our fingertips. The smell of crackling embers on the wind. Summer’s heat has left its mark. The ground...
