Hello Internet!
I’m back with a special announcement! First I should say that a ton of you are new readers and might not remember when I was writing Pokémon Fanfiction. If you look at the banner at the top of the page, you’ll see a Fanfiction section. It has been inactive since November of 2017. I was writing Pokémon Fanfiction based off of my play through of Pokémon Sun and Moon, but as you can see, I didn’t even make it to the new year. I quickly lost interest in writing the Fanfiction and started missing weeks. It was a mess. It just dragged down the website, broke up the momentum we had, and just didn’t work. I didn’t like writing it and according to my stats, people didn’t like reading it. I planned on ending it on a semi-conclusive end, and didn’t even managed that. It seriously sucked all of my energy and couldn’t even finish it. So why am I talking about it now? Well surprisingly there seems to be a resurgence of interest in my Pokémon Sun and Moon series. Every now and then I’ll get notifications saying that people are reading different pieces of the series which just baffles me. It wasn’t a popular series as I put out pieces, but it has gotten some views in death.
So am I bringing it back? Is that the big news? Ummmm…maybe someday, but no. Alexis’s journey through the Alola region is not coming back. Honestly, unless something crazy happens, it’s never coming back. Sorry for getting your hopes up if that’s what you thought it was going to be. But I do have good news! Pokémon Fanfiction is coming back in a whole new adventure!
Starting September 1st, I will be publishing new Pokémon Fanficiton based of the Johto Region and Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver every Saturday going forward. Nothing else will change. We will still have Weekly Blogs on Sundays, Poetry on Wednesdays, Writing Prompt pieces on Friday, and now Pokémon Fanfiction will be on Saturdays. Again, starting September 1st, I will be putting out new Pokémon Fanfiction following a boy named Jonathan traveling through the Johto Region.
So how will this be different and avoid the pitfalls that Alexis’ Sun and Moon journey fell into? Well planning and insight is going to be my friend as I start this. With the Sun and Moon Fanfiction, I was always playing catch up and writing stuff the night before. I had no idea where the story was going and I wrote and I played which made it tough to stay ahead of the schedule. That lead to me missing many weeks and putting out bad stuff on the other Wednesdays it was published. With my Heart Gold and Soul Silver Fanfiction, I have it all planned out and will jump ahead in time. There won’t be “filler episodes” and wandering around. Just jumping from big event to big event which I have all planned out. I also have all of September’s pieces already written and I plan to stay three-four weeks ahead of the publishing schedule. Things will come out on time and be good. I’m going to keep the momentum going and the pieces will reflect that. Another thing is that this is not going to be a constant thing going forward. I would describe it as “Seasonal content.” Right now it is planned to start in September and end in March. Depending on how it goes, it might be extended into April, but right now it’s planned to end in March of 2019. All of this planning will lead to a much better product I can be proud of and that you will love reading.
So there it is! There is my big announcement. Pokémon Fanfiction is coming back starting this Saturday, September 1st, 2018 and will focus on a boy named Jonathan traveling through the Johto Region.
