Bulletin Board: Category Descriptions

Hello Internet!

As you may have noticed, the website has received an upgrade and a new fresh can of paint. With this upgrade, I have added some new “Categories” for my posts including something called Bulletin Board. I wanted to write this post to talk about the categories giving you a description of each category as well as when new pieces will be published. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to leave them down below.

Bulletin Board

Category for posts which are used for updates as well as a space for the community to come together. I will post updates here with details about upcoming posts or changes in the website. I also want to use these posts to be a place for the community to gather and talk to me and other viewers. Feel free to leave comments down below about any of the posts of the website itself. Good. Bad. Whatever. I want to hear your criticisms and your praises so I can continue to improve the website.

Bulletin Board posts will not be a part of my regular, weekly schedule. I will update this category whenever I see fit.

 

Weekly Blog

Category for blogs posted on a weekly basis. These pieces focus on my personal life as well as my opinion about the world. The topics can range from life events, personal stories, weekly summaries, and all types of other things. These blogs will also allow you to get to know me better and get a peak behind the curtain to the author of the blogs and the creative writing pieces.

Weekly Blogs will be posted on Sundays as well as special occasions like Holidays.

 

Poetry

Category for my poetry. This poetry will be a mix of more structured forms of poetry like Haikus or Six-Word Memoirs and more free form poetry. These poems will have a large range of subject matters.

Poems will be posted on Wednesdays.

 

Writing Prompts

Category for small creative writing pieces based off of Writing Prompts. These will not be full stories. Just small tidbits of creative writing that may resemble a beginning, middle, or end. Many of the Writing Prompts come from Reddit from r/WritingPrompts, but I also get prompts from other online sources or books. Writing Prompt pieces may be standalone pieces or parts of ongoing series.

Writing Prompt pieces will be posted on Fridays.

Fanfiction

Category based on Fanfiction. Fanfiction is where an author uses someone else’s universe that’s been created and uses that to create their own content. I can take characters, places, scenarios, or anything else from another person’s body of work and create content for it. All Fanfiction will be rated G or PG and will not have any sexual content.

There is no current plans to add any Fanfiction posts in the near future. Currently there is an incomplete series based on my play through of Pokemon Sun and Moon if that interests you.

 

Politics

Category dedicated to the world of politics and mostly focuses on American politics or world politics with an American viewpoint. These political posts represent my own ideas and my own research and have no connection to any organization I have been a part of or may be a part of in the future. They are completely my views on things and no parallels should be drawn. A lot of these posts are influenced by my thoughts and opinions which add an inherent bias to them, but I try to do my research and use credible sources to reduce bias.

Political posts have been dormant since March 18th, 2017. There is no plans to bring back political posts in the near future. However, if you are interesting in my opinion on American Politics and Events. The discussion of politics, society, and current events can sometimes incite people to action which leads to heated conversations and the sharing of personal opinions. I ask everyone to be respectful of myself and other viewers of these posts or comments and users may be removed.

 

Creative Writing

Category dedicated to other random pieces of creative writing. This is a catch-all category for pieces that don’t really fit in anywhere else. This might include short stories, random snippets of writing, or whatever I feel like writing that week. Pieces are not uploaded on any kind of regular schedule.
