Autumn’s Siren Song

Autumn calls to me.

Its siren song sounds like crunching leaves.
It promises relief from the summer heat.
Replaced with chilly mornings and oversized sweaters.
The air is sweetened by pumpkin spice and apple cider.

Falling leaves of yellows, oranges, reds, and browns.
Distracts from the gentle layer of frost on the ground.
Soon those chilly autumn nights around the bonfire.
Will be replaced with ice storms and winter’s mighty blizzards.
