The heavenly woman.
She found me while I was dreaming.
Her smile was pearlescent.
Her eyes were so kind.
She told me that her path was righteous.
And I believed every lie.
Her words were so sweet.
That I couldn’t taste the poison.
Our fates chained together.
I had thrown away the key.
Even then, when the darkness reached for me.
I did not fight it.
I just closed my eyes.
Held my breath.
Reached for the fleeting memories of our love.
Wondered what I had done wrong.
