Hello Internet!
Today is Election Day here in the United States. If you are reading this, live in the US, and haven’t voted today, GO OUT AND VOTE!!! I’m not going to tell you who to vote for or which party is better. I don’t care about any of that. I just care that you go out and vote. Use the power that is given to you and make your voice heard. I know that voting might not sound like the sexiest thing in the world, but it’s important. Just think. There are countries out there that have been around for thousands of years and have never had a truly democratic elected leader. I know that the US is a Democratic-Repubic and things like the Electoral College exists, but we still get to vote. This year we get to vote on things like US House Members, US Senators, Governors, Attorney Generals, State House and Senate Members and many state-wide and local issues. Don’t just sit there and let this opportunity to change this country pass. If you don’t like something or a particular candidate, this is your day to show that in the ballot box. And remember, no one is going to see your ballot so vote however you want. Vote for Republicans, vote for Democrats, vote for Third-Party Candidates, or vote for a mix of all three. I. Don’t. Care. Just Vote!
GO VOTE!!
GO VOTE!!
GO VOTE!!
GO VOTE!!
GO VOTE!!
GO VOTE!!
Don’t make me say it again. Do some research and become an informed voter and go to the polls and vote. Last thing I want to say is that no matter how the election goes and no matter who gets elected and who doesn’t, we’re still Americans and get to spread divisiveness or create unity. Go meet your neighbors. Talk to someone who doesn’t agree with your political beliefs. Read as many different sources as you can to balance out those biases. Leave your Echo Chambers and change your perspective. I truly believe that as Americans we have more in common than we really know. We just have to lean into that and support each other instead of falling into the pit trap of petty fighting and divisiveness.
Ok time to get off my soapbox and get back to writing. I voted early so you don’t have to worry about me. Just go out there and vote!
