Special Weekly Blog Thanksgiving 2021

Hello Internet!

I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy. Today is Thanksgiving, or at least it is here in the United States. For all my readers that are outside the US, it’s just a random Thursday. For me, today is a day where I get to eat way too much Turkey, watch some football, and see my friends and family. Some people I haven’t seen for over a year due to this ongoing pandemic and I am so happy to be fully vaccinated so I can see them and give them a long overdue hug. I’m truly thankful for the wonder that is modern medicine and the technology of vaccines. I see the images of what it was like before we could easily fight diseases like polio and smallpox and I am so glad I didn’t have to go through that. I’ve seen how many people were affected by this pandemic and I’m so glad I never got it. I’m happy I was able to drive down to my local CVS and get the vaccine. I’m also thankful for so many other things. And that’s what today is really about. It’s about a day where we can all sit down and take a moment to reflect on what really matters and how grateful we are. Especially after the past couple of years has shown us how quickly things can change.

2020 was an incredibly hard year for basically everyone and 2021 wasn’t much better for a lot of people. For me I would say it was an improvement, but it still wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Overall it’s been a tough year as things start to open up and we have to reflect on what just happened. I’m thankful that I was able to find a job in May and I was able to cover things like groceries and student loan payments. I am thankful I was able to move in with one of my good friends and that he is such a great roommate. I’m thankful for all the friends and family that helped me get here and all the support they showed me when I went through some of my toughest days. I don’t know where I’d be without all of these wonderful people I can lean on. Their support has meant more to me than I can ever express. During the last couple years there have been moments where I’ve felt very isolated. I’m sure we can all relate to that. But even when I feel alone, I know I have people who love me and care about me that I can turn to. They mean a lot to me.

I’m also thankful for all of you wonderful people who are reading this right now. Yes you! Throughout 2021 my upload schedule was rocky at best. There were many moments where I felt burnt out and not creative. Moments where I didn’t think I could write a sentence. But despite all of that, I saw growth on the website. All of you continue to read my stuff and support this Blog. My community has continued to grow and I’m nearing 800 Followers on WordPress. I’m also on pace to surpass last year’s numbers in terms of views. Obviously these are just numbers, but those numbers going up does bring me some joy. I’m just glad that there are people all over the world reading the stuff I write. It’s crazy! And that wouldn’t be possible without all of you Liking, Commenting, and Sharing the stuff I write. So thank you so much for your support. It really means the world to me.

So there are a few things that I am thankful for this year on top of the regular stuff like good food and a day off of work. Anyway, I hope that no matter if you are celebrating or not, you have a wonderful day. Take a moment today to think about the things in your life you can be thankful for. I know I’ll be thinking about it all day.

Thank you again and I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
